ENGAGING DIVERSE AUDIENCES FOR THE NHS
The NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme has grown from taking on 100 graduates to now hiring 500 a year. Yet while the NHS has become evermore important to all of us, it has still struggled to engage a diverse audience.
This was a chance to celebrate BAME talent in the NHS and on the Graduate Management Training Scheme.

We set about creating content and a strategy to engage BAME students, students with a disability and LGBTQ+ students. Through research, we found a way to engage with networks on campus and start to build a relationship with them. Most recently we held a multi-university diversity event where over 270 students registered.
A central pillar of our strategy was to engage with students and student networks directly on campus, and we had a phenomenal response from student reps. We helped to raise the profile of a programme that many people didn’t know existed – or didn’t feel was for them.
